Definitely stir it after you remove it from the microwave since it doesn't heat evenly and will not be a consistent texture until you stir. After each dip stir again both to keep it even and also to test to see if it has become too thick for dipping. If it has thickened, put it back in the microwave for a few seconds and test again to see if the consistency is good for dipping.
