Easter Egg Cupcakes on Parade

I took a quick look on our Flickr page and saw it is filling up with a veritable parade of Easter Egg cupcakes this year. There are lots of beauties there, and lots of fun techniques. One of my favs is this set of eggs done by Hoosier Homemade. The decorating is gorgeous and I especially like the way the eggs are sitting upright on top of the eggs. Have you decorated your egg cupcakes yet? Not too late to post it to Flickr at the Hello, Cupcake! page so everyone can see them before Easter. Go to Hoosier Homemade to see how the eggs were made and read about the terrific recipes for cake and cookies there.  http://bit.ly/9WIAvq

Can anyone tell me how to bake a message in a cupcake. I was thinking of wrapping it with foil, put a little batter in the cupcake paper, then message, then more batter. Anyone got a better idea?

We have a great cupcake idea in our new book What's New, Cupcake? where we roll out caramels, cut them into circles, and then fold them around paper messages  to create fortune cookies. It looks great, tastes great, and is the sweetest way to say something special. Try it with a side order of Fried Rice cupcakes!

      Happy cupcaking!
