Pink Butterflies
We wanted to show you these butterfly cupcakes sent to us by Jennifer because she chose such an amazing range of colors for the chocolate wings. In Hello, Cupcake! we used brown and orange to make them look like Monarchs, but Jennifer made them pink and lavender and created a Pastel Fairy Cupcake Project. Congratulations Jennifer, they are stunning.

What amazing colors!

Help I'm trying to make the butterfly cupcakes and the candy I'm using keeps harding while I'm working. I use candy all the time but for some reason it just keeps clumping what can I do to stop this

Hi Meghan,
I am sorry you are having trouble. Are you using the melting wafers (we usually use the ones from Wilton)? If they are clumping you can soften them by returning the bag to the microwave for just a few second and softening them. I also find that it helps to keep the melted candy pushed down to the corner when you are piping. When you leave small bits pushed up near the zipper or away from the large mass of melted candy the small bits will harden faster and then clog then corner you are using for piping. Just remember you can always microwave it again for a few seconds, squeegee your melted chocolate down to the corner using a plastic spatula, and then massage to incorporate the bits and make it all smooth.
Hope that helps.
Happy cupcaking,
Alan
