We love it when you folks reinvent the wheel, or in this case our American flag cupcakes. This image was sent to us by Charles who told us his 10 year old cupcake-obsessed daughter Ellie created this flag from our book Hello, Cupcake! for the 4th of July. We love how Ellie took advantage of the candy shapes and used the red licorice Twists for the stripes and the white chocolate morsels for stars. That's what we call smart cupcaking, look and see what you have on hand or just use the candy you love, and make it your own. We hope Ellie sends us lots more of her Twist on cupcakes!
