We really love funny faces and think it is a great way to get everyone in on the fun. Kids love it. We like to put all the candy out on the table, line up the frosted cupcakes, open the book to the expressions page and let the kids party. From the looks of it Chef Cheryl had a party too. Thanks a bunch to you too! We love having cupcake parties for our kids and their friends. I just got an e-mail from a family down in Mississippi that had a birthday party where all of the kids got to make their own chocolate butterfly wings using the pattern in Hello, Cupcake and then mom put them on their cupcakes for a birthday pool-party celebration. Sounds like fun, sorry I missed it!

We love that you like the "find something that works" strategy. We try to make the cupcake designs open to interpretation and think it is really fun when folks change them up. That's why we love getting your photos to show everyone how creative cupcaking can be. As for fondant, it's not that we are opposed to it, we just think candy is a lot more fun, and tastes good too!
